Private graveside services and burial for Jeffrey Nelson were held Sept. 3 at Pilot Grove #2 Cemetery, Jamesport.

Jeffrey Allen Nelson, 58, Gallatin, died Aug. 31, 1999, at his residence.

Mr. Nelson was born in Portland, Ore. His family lived in Fergus Falls, Minn., and in the Los Angeles vicinities of Compton and Hawthorne, Calif. Mr. Nelson lived in San Francisco, spent some time in Alaska, and lived in Detroit Lakes, Minn, before moving to Gallatin in 1995.

In 1958, he joined the Army and served until 196 with the 101st Airborne Division as a light weapons infantryman and a parachutist, stationed at fort Campbell, Ky.

Mr. Nelson was employed by DSI, Inc., of Osage Beach as a pipeline inspector and liaison with the City of Gallatin when natural gas was piped into Gallatin and other communities in Daviess County until 1997. He later was employed by Gallatin Truck and Tractor.

In 1960, he married Linda Bell; they are divorced.

Mr. Nelson was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James M. Nelson.

Survivors include his special friend, Linda Madison, Gallatin; two daughters, Debbie Jo Nelson and Christina Nelson; two sons, Jeffrey and Steven Nelson; three sisters, Janet Kay Henderson of Anza, Calif., Jennifer Lynn Drobeck of Tucson, Ariz., and Jodie Beth Nelson of Bisbee, Ariz.
