She was the daughter of Troy and Myrtle Pitts of Canadian, OK. She attended Canadian Schools. She moved to Riverside, Texas after her husband preceded her in death. They attended church at the First Baptist Church of McAlester. She worked as a waitress for the Stockyards, at a fabric store and Wal-mart. She was a seamstress for many years and is best know for her bridal and formal dresses, although she prepared attire for many school and church events. She and her husband were volunteers for the Meals on Wheels program and she played the piano at nursing homes. Survivors include five daughters, four sons-in-law, one son and one daughter-in-law; Glenda and Britt West, Riverside, Texas, Bill and Phyllis Beck, Hudson Fla., Marilyn and Duke Proctor, Conroe Texas, Melanie and Ray Gore, Tucson Ariz., Janet and Brady Sneed, Alba Texas, and Peggy Ross, of Indianola; one brother, Troy Pitts Jr., Redding Calif.; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her infant sister, Alice, and her husband, Carmel Alongi. Memorial services were held Sept. 10 at Faith Baptist Church in Riverside, Texas with the eulogy given by her grandson, Pastor Charles Lightfoot. Graveside service were held Sept. 11 at Memory Gardens Cemtery in McAlester. The eulogy was given by her son-in-law, Deacon Britt West.
