Carl C. Hartung , 87, of 104 Fox Meadow Drive, Liverpool, died Saturday at Birchwood Health Care Center.
Born in Callicoon, he lived in Cape Cod, Mass., New Port Richey, Fla., and Binghamton before moving to Liverpool three years ago. He retired in 1975 as a school administrator with the Binghamton School District and also coached the Binghamton North High School swim team and was owner and director of Camp Huskee.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Irene; two daughters, Joanne Wetter and Mary Beth Hartung , both of Liverpool; three sons, Carl "Chris" of Burke, Va., Arthur of Eastham, Mass., and Larry of North Eastham, Mass.; a brother, Arthur of Florida; and seven grandchildren.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph the Worker Church, Liverpool. Burial is in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lakeland.
Calling hours are 4 to 6 p.m. today at Maurer Funeral Home, 300 Second St., Liverpool.
