James Newton Funeral Services

The Funeral services for James Newton of Springdale, Washington were held at the Community Log church, Tuesday, with Rev. Glessner officiating.

Mr. Newton died at the local hospital Saturday after a brief illness. Born in Corvallis, Oregon, August 3, 1885,he came to Washington in 1890, where he has since resided.

He is survived by his wife, Mabelle, who is a teacher in the local school, one son James, attending the University of Washington, one daughter, Mrs. V. Hankins of Okanogan, a brother, A. P. Newton of Tacoma, and three sisters, Mrs. Lydia Ishmael of Burton, Mrs. Rachel Henderson of St. John and Mrs. Martha McNeil of Spokane.

Pallbearers were Paul Jansen, Leonard Richards, Forrest Wilson, Scott Hull, James Sonstelle and Fred LaFayette.

Mr. and Mrs. r. Knauft of the Adventist church furnished the music.
