We are sorry we were unable to get particulars in time last week to make proper mention of the departure of one who was very much beloved and respected by those who knew her, that of Mrs. John P. Carr, at the hospital at Rochester, Minnesota, where she had undergone an operation for gall stones. The reports received from the hospital after the operation, we understand were very encouraging, and it was very hard for those to whom she was near and dear, when they learned that she had suddenly taken a turn for the worse and passed away on to her Heavenly reward.

Sarah Ellen Rohr was born July 24, 1867, in Polk County, Iowa. She was the youngest of a family of nine children. She was married to John P. Carr, October 23, 1884. To this union three sons and four daughters were born. Dickinson County has been her home since 1900.

She died November 9, 1916, at the hospital at Rochester, Minnesota. The funeral was held at Fostoria November 12, and burial was made at Spencer. Rev. Bond of Spencer preached the funeral sermon.

Those who are left to mourn her death are J. P. Carr, the husband, four daughters, Mrs. Elmer James, of Cresco, Iowa, Mrs. Ed Kolb, of Spencer, Misses Dosia and Rubie at Home, and three sons, E. Z. Carr, of Milford, I. [Ivan] R. Carr, of Fostoria and John Carr at home. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of the community.
