Mrs. Walter Sims, 83, Dies at Sylacauga.
Mrs. Walter Sims, 83, former resident of the Penton Community, passed away in a Sylacauga hospital February 6, following an illness of eight weeks. She was a resident of Childersburg at the time of her death.
Funeral services were held from Rock Springs Baptist Church at 10 a.m. February 8, with Rev. Maynard McGinty and Rev. D. C. McAtee conducting. Interment was in the Sims Family Cemetery with Johnson & Sanders Funeral Home in charge.
Surviving are the husband; three daughters, Mrs. W. J. Bowling, Abanda, Mrs. H. C. Newman, Penton, and Mrs. Ewell Robinson, Birmingham; three sons, W. J. Sims, Childersburg, E. H. Sims, Lanett, and H. E. Sims, LaGrange, GA; two brothers, J. C. Blanks, Logan, WV and John Blanks, LaFayette Route 3; two sisters, Mrs. Odie Mayfield, Merkle, TX and Mrs. W. L. Harmon, LaFayette Route 3.
Pallbearers were grandsons.
