Donald Lombard, age 84 of Ithaca, died Thur., May 2, 2002 at Schnepp Health Care Center in St. Louis with his family at his bedside.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Mon, May 6 at the Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca, with Rev. Steve Wimmer officiating. Burial will follow in the Ithaca Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Schnepps Activity Center.
Don was born in Newark Township on April 1, 1918, the son of Arthur and Mabel (Woods) Lombard. He married Ruth A. Hibner on Feb. 2. 1950 in North Star.
He was a farmer in Newark township for most of his life. He loved to spend time with his grandkids and great grandchildren, as well as gardening. He also enjoyed the activities at Schnepps.
Don is survived by his wife, Ruth; his children, Janet Kanitz of Moran, and Phillip (Kathy) Lombard of Ithaca; 13 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Ross Kanitz in 1995, his brothers, Kenneth, Dale, Bob and Daine Lombard, and his sister, Lois McCormick.
