Richard A. Palmer, age 66, of Oberlin, died Saturday evening, January 31, 2009, at New Life Hospice in Lorain.
He was born on February 13, 1942, in Hinton, West Virginia, and has lived in the area for over 40 years. He was retired from the Lorain Ford Plant. He liked working on old cars and hanging out with his friends at McDonald's in Oberlin.
He is survived by his daughter Dawn (Jeff) Lohr of Elyria; sons Richard R. (Patty) Palmer of Wakeman, Doug Palmer of Lagrange and David (Kristi) Palmer of Amherst; a sister Nancy (Bill) Lilly of Avon Lake; nine grandchildren and
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Diane, his parents, Walter R. and Josephine (Fink) Palmer, a step-father, Paul Hedrick and a brother, Bob Palmer.
Friends may call on Tuesday, February 3, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper St, Wakeman, where services will be held on Wednesday, February 4, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Camden Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.mormanfh.com.
