HAMDEN - Edwin Franklin Crosby, Jr., 86, of 61 Cannon St., died at St. Raphael's Hospital. He lived in Hamden all his life. He was an auto salesman for the former Brown and Thomas Co., and also for Hurlburt Motors. After his retirement he was a salesman for the Moran Brush Co. He was an organizer and charter member of the Hamden Auxiliary Police Department where he retired as chief. He was a 40-year member of the Day Spring Lodge #30 AF&AM and a member of the BPOE 2224, both of Hamden.
Besides his wife, he leaves four daughters, Cynthia Turner; Phyllis "Fe" Wlotzko; Diane Cavallaro and Laurie Galvin; sisters, Helen Colkin and Ethel Andrew; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sisters, Elizabeth Brown and Mabel Bogart and a brother Clarence Crosby.
Burial at the Central Burying Grounds in Hamden, Connecticut.
