Age 40 at time of death, husband of Mary Jane "Bryant" Parish. Johnson is listed on the TVA records as W. Johnson but his grandson Thurman Coy, Jr said his name was Johnson J. and he was never told what the J. stood for. Thurman Coy Parish, Jr. is also the person who shared the photos on this memorial and many others with me.

Johnson was the son of Richard "Dick" Elcanah and Louise "Ledbetter" Parish/Parrish. Johnson had one son, Thurman Coy Parish, Sr. If you search through the census records you will find the families names listed some with one "r" and some with two "r's" and the families spelled their names different also.

If I remember correctly? Thurman Coy Jr. said Johnson cut his foot while chopping fire wood and it set up an infection which caused his death.
