Funeral service for Birt Jeffries, 80, of Hitchcock were conducted Wednesday, April 28 at 2:P.M. in the Landes Funeral Chapel in Okeene.
Reverend Leonard Tolle officiated at the service. Burial was in the IOOF cemetery at Watonga with Landes Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Jeffries died in the Watonga Hospital Sunday following a short illness. Born in Illinois, he came to Oklahoma when still a child and had lived in the Hitchcock community for fifty years. He was a farmer until his retirement. Surviors include a daughter, Mrs. Millard (Margaret)Nigh, Wellington, KS. One son Joe, Hitchcock, 6 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
