Mrs. Goodson was born in Menlo, Georgia on May 8, 1917, daughter of the late Herbert Hall and Treasavance Berry Hall. She attended Menlo High School, graduating in 1934 as the Valedictorian of her class. Mrs. Goodson retired from the United States Postal Service. Following her retirement, she was a member of the Silverado Dancing group and loved traveling extensively with her sister, Ivanell Edwards. Mrs. Goodson was a member of the Menlo United Methodist Church, attended the Lyerly Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Goodson and a sister, Ivanell Edwards.
Mrs. Goodson is survived by a niece, Cathie and Robert Warren; nephew, Herby and Barbara Edwards; great nieces, Karen Browning, Melanie Teems, MiMi Harris, Dixie Edwards and Kensie Edwards; great nephews, Kenneth Edwards and Kevin Edwards; great great nieces and nephews, Kristofer Browning, Joey Browning, Kaitlin Browning, Taeler Teems, Jayce Harris, Kamdyn Harris, Harper Harris, Lauren Edwards, and Seth Edwards; and a great great great nephew, Lashley Day; and her beloved cat, Tom.
Graveside and Interment Services for Mrs. Goodson will be held Sunday, March 25, 2012 at 4:00 P.M. in the Alpine Cemetery with Rev. Mickey Skates officiating.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Edwards, Kevin Edwards, Kristofer Browning, Joey Browning, Taeler Teems, Jayce Harris and Kamdyn Harris. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Ladies Sunday School Class of Lyerly Baptist Church and the Staff of Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Goodson will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00 P.M. until 3:30 P.M.
