Death notes from newspaper article photocopied from the collection of Mrs. Claude Gorham donated to Bradford County Historical Society as follows: Mrs. Joanna Brainard, wife of the late David Brainard, and a life long resident of Warren Township, passed away at her home, Feb. 27, 1923. She was a daughter of George and Sarah Allyn Bowen, and was the last of twelve children. She was born June 16, 1823. Her father was one of the most prosperous pioneers, coming to Warren from Seekonk, RI., in 1811. The deceased is survived by an adopted son, Warren T., and a grandson (Jesse Albert Brainard), with whom she lived, and several great grand children. Funeral services were held at the home on Friday afternoon.
