Ambrose Tart, an old resident of South Starksboro, died Saturday after an illness of several months of a complications of diseases.

He was born in Sheldon June 1, 1836, and married Lydia L. Hallock September 23, 1855. They were the parents of ten children, all living except one who died in infancy, and twenty-four grandchildren. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary two years ago.

Mr. tart enlisted in the Civil War for three years December 19, 1863, in Company B, 9th Vt., Vols., and came home at the close of the war after serving eighteen months.
