Age 78, passed away Monday, January 26, 2009 at Chelsea Retirement Community. She was born July 9, 1930 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the daughter of Howard & Lillian (Whiteman) Pingston. Pat graduated from Dexter High School and in 1949, she married her high school sweetheart, Arthur N. Stoll. Pat was a member of the Chelsea United Methodist Church and was active until her illness. She volunteered at the Chelsea Retirement Community for many years. Pat worked at the Chelsea Lumber Company, retiring in 1980 after 20 years as head bookkeeper. Pat enjoyed gardening and her beautiful flowers. She always had a beautiful smile and kind word for everyone. Pat was a gracious and loving wife, mother, and grandma, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Pat and Art lived at Cavanaugh Lake for 36 years. Pat enjoyed living at the lake, where she loved to swim, waterski, and sail. She enjoyed sharing her love of the lake with her grandchildren. Art and Pat cross-country skied and ice skated in the winter. In addition to her husband, other survivors include two sons, Howard (Becky) Stoll of Pleasant Lake, David (Jeanene) Stoll of Spring Arbor; two daughters, Kathlene (Carl) Chmielewski of Durham, NC, Mary Stagner of Temecula, CA; a brother, Robert (Jan) Pingston of DeWitt; a sister, Barbara (William) Songer of Hastings; 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place according to Pat's wishes. A celebration of Pat's life was held Saturday, Feb. 7, 11:00 am at Chelsea First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Joy Barrett officiating.
