Shawn was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He graduated from Central High School, and then from Tennessee State University. It was there he met Adrienne Emily Hickson, and began a relationship. When she went away to law school, the relationship deteriorated. On Dec. 21, 2005, Shawn decided to break off their relationship, and Adrienne stabbed him. Five days later, he passed away at the local hospital. A resident of Duluth, Georgia, he is survived by his mother, Karien Sewell; father, Isaac (Patricia) Washington; sisters, Chiara Beck, Chekilla Miller; brother, Isaac T. Washington; grandparents, Florence Sewell and Eddie Mae Washington; aunts, Bettye Moss, Gwendolyn (Melvin) Ruffin, Darlene (Sylvester) Ware, Elizabeth Ray, Henrietta Hines, Maryann Washington, Annie Lee Washington; and uncles, Chestley Sewell, Gregory Sewell, Dale Sewell, Monroe Washington, Johnnie Washington, Charles Stevens and Henry Stevens. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Woodroe Washington. He was employed as a driver for the Flowers Baking Company in Lilburn, Georgia, and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church where he served on the Usher Board.
