Mrs. Helen Abney Thompson, 75, of 14 Lynn St. Franklin, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2000, at her residence. She was born on April 18, 1925, in Jackson, Ky., the daughter of Fred and Ersie Lou Lakes Abney. Mrs. Thompson was employed at the McMillan Factory in Centerville for 25 years and also worked at Warren County Community Services as a cook, retiring in 1995. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard, in 1998; a daughter, Lois Tooley; brothers Jimmy, Ed and Floyd Abney; and a grandson, Kevin Thompson. She is survived by her sons William H. Thompson of Franklin, Anthony E. Thompson, and his wife, Linda, of Kettering and Bryan K. Thompson, and his wife, Juanita, of Dayton; daughters, Delores Stone, and husband, Samuell, of Franklin, Phyllis Lewis, and husband, Garmon, of Miamisburg, and Karen Bates, and husband, Harold Dean, of London, Ky.; brothers Ruby Abney, and wife, Mary, of Goshen, Ind., Ronald Abney, and wife, May, of Franklin, and Benjamin Abney of Franklin; sisters Eileen Franks and Della Mae Shockley, both of Carlisle; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, at Unglesby-Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. Second St., Franklin. Visitation is today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodhill Cemetery.
