Our mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, and friend, Jodie returned home to be reunited with so many of the family and friends that she so dearly loved - early on Sunday morning, September 6, 2009 at Greenwood Manor in Lehi, Utah, where she had been a patient for six years.

Her peaceful return came in her sleep without pain and suffering. We rejoice in the knowledge that as she sought to lift the hearts of all she met she will be busily doing so again on the other side of the veil. She kept her covenants and sweetly blessed the lives of all around her.

Mom was born December 7, 1933 to Rulon and Reva Sheffield Killian in Orangeville, Utah.

Along with her sister Janne and brothers Jim and Sheff, she moved to Salt Lake City, then Moses Lake, Washington before landing in Kaysville, Utah. She graduated from Davis High School in 1952 -- a proud member of Pro Schola club. She worked briefly at Hill Air Force Base and then went to Brigham Young University.

There she met her eternal companion, from Svendborg, Denmark, Jorn Rudiger (Rudy) Grawe. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on November 18, 1954. Rudy had joined the US Army and they went to Germany. They returned to Springfield, Oregon for architect school at the University of Oregon. Mom was blessed to bring two sons, Reid and Win, into this world before Rudy was called home to heaven in August 1959. Mom moved to Kaysville, graduated from Weber State, and became a 4th Grade teacher at Burton Elementary in 1964.

She met George Althen Olsen at a Parents Without Partners outing and married him on September 21, 1968. Moving to Dugway, Utah, she gave birth to her last son Wade. She loved being a mother and enjoyed her time with George's children Kae, Randy, Daryl, and Wendy whenever they could visit. Mom moved to Mount Pleasant when George retired from Dugway. They lived on Main Street in an old house she loved. She dearly wished to be a 'Sanpete-er'.

Before George returned to heaven in 1997, Wade graduated, sons and step-sons served missions, all the children married, and Mom became a 'grandma' times 22 plus many more. And as she exits this life she's a 'great-grandma' times seven plus more. Children were a precious gift to be treasured and she spent many years in the Primary extending her love to bring smiles and happiness to those little ones. She also served with her sisters in Relief Society everywhere, especially at Dugway and then as the President in the Mount Pleasant Fourth Ward. The friendships forged were always intended to last forever.

Mom taught us charity even when it wasn't returned, courage in the face of personal trials, and love for the Savior and His gospel. Her father, mother, Rudy, George and others undoubtedly have embraced her. The rest of us await our turn to see her smile, hear her words, and feel her loving embrace.

Mom is survived by her sister, Janne (Jay) Webster of Fruit Heights; her brothers Jim (Dot) Killian of Provo and Sheff (Daleen) Killian of Ogden; her sister-in-law Ruth Grawe (Ben) Hudson of South Jordan; brothers-in-law: Doug (Dorothy deceased) Olsen of Mount Pleasant; Don (Rose) Olsen of Fredonia, AZ; Bryant (Beth) Olsen of Salt Lake City; sister-in-law Beverly (Robert deceased) Olsen of Mt. Pleasant; her sons: Reid (Julie) Grawe of Lehi; Win (Glenda) Grawe of Spring, Texas; Wade (Taunya) Olsen of South Jordan; her step-children: Kae (Russ) Canning of Salt Lake City; Randy (Brenda) Olsen of Vidalia, LA; Daryl (Maureen) Olsen of Centerville; and Wendy Olsen of Atlanta, GA; plus numerous grandchildren and friends. We express our sincere gratitude to all who have befriended Mom throughout her life.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2009 in the Mount Pleasant Fourth Ward Building (49 South State Street), with a viewing from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services.
Graveside Services and Interment will be held in the Mount Pleasant City Cemetery.
