David W. Almond, 56, of Walnut, Kansas, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009.
David was born in Chanute, Kansas on July 8, 1953, the son of Howard J. and Betty J. (True) Almond.
He graduated from Chanute High School.
He was united in marriage to Deborah M. Michael on October 3, 1994 in Humboldt, Kansas. She survives of the home.
David owned his own business as a welder.
Along with his wife Deborah, he is survived by three sons, Joshua of Buffalo, KS, Matt Lewis of Arizona, and J.D. Sexton of the home; three daughters, Lori Lewis of Arizona, Jennifer Garber of Meade, KS, and Jessica Clements of Hooker, OK; two grandchildren; three brothers, Steve Almond and wife Jennifer of Fort Scott, KS, Joe Almond of Chanute, KS, and John Almond and wife Phyllis of Chanute, KS; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 14, 2009 at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel in Chanute, KS. Burial will follow in the Shaw Cemetery, Shaw, Kansas.
Memorials in his name may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children and may be left with the funeral home.
Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
