William V. "Bill" Fricke, age 84 years, of Archbold, passed away Thursday night, April 28, 2011, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold. He was born December 4, 1926, near Archbold, the son of Jacob and Myra (Seiler) Fricke. He married Carolyn Gautsche on September 2, 1951, and she preceded him in death on September 7, 2009. He lived at Pettisville and Devils Lake, MI before moving to Archbold in 2007, and with his wife spent winters in Palm Island, FL. He was a farmer and, alongside his wife, owned and operated the Archbold Elevator until he retired. He attended St. John's Christian Church in Archbold.
He is survived by four children, Jane (Rev. Greg) Martin of Arcadia, FL, Mary Lou (Dennis) Moore of Tulsa, OK, Carma (Ron) Rittichier of Bryan, and William L. (Lynette) Fricke of Pettisville; 13 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Robert Lynn; a brother, Orville Fricke; and a sister Leanna Sundberg.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 AM at St. John's Christian Church with Pastor Erich Christman officiating. Private interment will be in the Pettisville Cemetery. Friends may call at the Chapel of St. John's Christian Church from 4 – 7 PM on Monday. The family suggests that memorials be given to Fairlawn Haven, Hospice, or St. John's Christian Church.
