FORT MYERS NEWS-PRESS, July 27, 1939 - Mrs. Ophelia Eliza Hollis, 69, died yesterday at the home of her son, Ernest Hollis, on Fowler Street after having been an invalid for the past year. Mrs. Hollis, a native of Georgia, came to Fort Myers six years ago at the same time her husband, T. E. Hollis, was forced to go to Colorado Springs, Colo., for his health. Mrs. Hollis was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Jim C. Ryals of Montgomery County, Ga., and her first husband was Dr. Allen C. Clements.
Mrs. Hollis is survived by her husband, T. E. Hollis; four sons, Jim C. Clements, Allen Clements, Ernest Hollis and Charles Hollis of Fort Myers; and two brothers, Dr. Howell Ryals of Delwood and Dr. William Ryals of Cowart, Ala.; one sister, Mrs. Ella B. Smith of Statesboro, Ala.; a nephew, George Ryals of Fort Myers , and several grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock this afternoon at the Lawrence A. Powell chapel with the Rev. Rembert A. Guy officiating. The pallbearers will be W. A. Sheppard, Judge George W. Whitehurst, Santa Aarmeda, R. Vivian Lee, T. G. Finck and John K. Woolslair. Interment will be at the Fort Myers Cemetery.
