Mildred (Bilbrey) Bohannon, 94, of Crossville, passed away Aug. 19, 2009 at her home.

Funeral services were held Aug. 23 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Mary and the Rev. John Halliburton officiating.

Interment will be in Green Acres Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Bohannon was born July 13, 1915, in Crossville, the daughter of Kasper L. and Effie (Williams) Bilbrey.

She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Art Circle Public Library since the 1940s and also a member of the Home Demonstration Club. She was an avid gardener and wild flower enthusiast.

Survivors include her sons, Jim Luther Bohannon (Nancy) of Crossville, Lewis Alexander Bohannon (Lesanne) of Nina, WI, Michael Joe Bohannon of Crossville, Frank Bilbrey Bohannon (Paula) of Crossville and Dan Hunter Bohannon (Janice) of Cookeville; grandchildren, Betsy Bailey, Jill Davenport, Julie Nannie, Tricia Clifford, Brooke Bohannon, Tori Bohannon, Sam Bohannon, Ben Bohannon, Kate Bohannon, Meghan Bohannon, Josh Bohannon and Sara Bohannon; and great-grandchildren, Charlie Nannie and Bohannon Nannie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Hunter Bohannon; and brothers, Raphael Bilbrey and Lee Bilbrey.

Pallbearers were Jim Bohannon, Lewis "Bo" Bohannon, Dan Bohannon, Sam Bohannon, Ben Bohannon and Josh Bohannon.

Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. (www.bilbreyfh.com) was in charge of the arrangements.
