Services: Funeral service will be at 12:00 noon Tuesday, September 9, 2009 in the Smith West Chapel.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon Tuesday at Smith West Chapel.
Matthew Thaddeus Coleman age 86 of Walland passed away, Saturday, September 05, 2009 at Asbury Place of Maryville. He was a faithful member of Walland United Methodist Church, Past President and longtime member of the Maryville Lions Club, and a Veteran of the United States Army serving in the Rainbow Division during WW II and the Korean Conflict. Matt was a graduate of The University of Tennessee School of Engineering and he retired from Rohm & Haas in Knoxville and USS Chemicals in Florence, KY. Preceded in death by: son, Donald Edward Coleman; brother, Franklin Coleman; sister, Marianne Bishop. Survivors include: Wife, Dortha Kate Coleman; daughters, Mary Coleman Linkous and husband, Brian of Deer Lodge, TN, and Carol Coleman Adams of Woodstock, GA; grandchildren, Kimberly Coleman Tarver and husband, Cory, James Adams, Evelyn, Coleman, and Miranda Linkous; great granddaughter, Katelyn Tarver; nephew, Lindsay Bishop; niece, Marilyn Bishop; special friends, Sherrie and Steve Whitehead; several cousins. Funeral service will be at 12:00 noon Tuesday, September 9, 2009 in the Smith West Chapel. Family and friends will assemble at 1:00 p.m. at Grandview Cemetery for the interment. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon Tuesday at Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, Maryville, 983-1000.
