Harry Edward Ragland, 76, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 1992 at Humana Hospital Davis North in Layton of complications following a stroke.

He was born November 30, 1916 in Knoxville, Tennessee, the only child of Thomas E. and Cordelia Carroll Ragland.

He married Lyla Smith on June 5, 1944 in Midland, Texas. Harry was a resident of Kaysville for over 45 years.

He served honorably as bombardier, Army Air Corps, during World War II. Retired after 20 years of service to his country, attaining rank of Major. He attended yearly reunions with his 8th Air Force 96th Bombardier group. He flew 25 missions in Germany.

His civil service career included time at the Naval Supply Depot and Hill AFB, retiring after 30 years of service. He was a very devoted husband and father. He was a true Christian, giving freely of his time, talents, and means.

His interests included golf and bowling. He bowled weekly on a league, until the time of his recent illness. He and his wife Lyla were past members of the Kaysville JayCees, and continued meeting bi-weekly with the Exhausted Roosters. He leaves behind many choice friends from this association.

Surviving are: His wife of 48 years, and two sons, Jerry C. (Judy) Ragland, Kaysville; Bryce D. (Virginia) Ragland, Layton; one daughter, Sherri (Kelly) Randall, Roy; seven grandchildren, Jamie and Jared Ragland, LaDuska, Nathan and Tristan Ragland, and Jeremy and Randi Siler.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 3, 1993 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main Street, where friends may call on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday one hour prior to the services.

Interment: Kaysville City Cemetery, where Full Military Honors will be accorded.
