Their suggestion:

The tombstone states 1919 but I believe that it is error…

Two reasons:

1920 Federal Census, Dallas Twp., DeKalb Co., MO: Albert Shaw, age 64, owns farm, born in MO, parents born in USA; wife Emily J., age 64, born in MO, father born in VA, mother born in MO.

"Obituary, Albert Shaw, son of Andrew and Hannah Shaw, was born in Clinton county, Mo. on February 8, 1855, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Leslie Minor, June 26, 1940, at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 18 days. He was married to Emily Boyer July 23, 1876. He was a member of the New Hope church and a true follower of Christ. Preceding him in death was his wife, Emily Shaw, who died February 9, 1920, and a daughter Lizzie Shaw, who died May 7, 1906. Surviving are two daughters and one son, Mrs. G.A. Shiplay of Loveland, Colo., W.O. Shaw of Pattsonburg, Mrs. Leslie Minor, Weatherby. One brother, Clinton Shaw, of Enid, Okla., nine grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren, also many relatives, friends and neighbors who have always known him as an honest, upright citizen of this community. And so passes on to the Great Beyond one more good man whose presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services at New Hope church near Santa Rosa, Friday afternoon, June 28. Burial made in New Hope Cemetery. Services conducted by Rev. Welbern Bowman." (Gallatin North Missourian, Thursday, July 4, 1940)
