Delphi Resident Dies At 80
DELPHI - Hansel M. McHardie, 80, Rt. 1 Delphi, died at 8:20 a.m. Monday at the Flora Brethren Home. Born August 15, 1898, in Delaware county, he was the son of Emery and Addie Jones McHardie.

He was married to Joan Murphy in 1918, and she died in 1928. In 1932, he was married to Mary E. Trawin Disinger, and she survives.

A retired farmer, he drove a school bus in Delphi for/38 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Delphi, and a former member of the Delphi IOOF.

Also surviving are two daughters, Dorothy Jones, Rockfield; and Margaret Lowe, Monticello; three stepdaughters, Opal McKinley, Rt. 1, Delphi; Ruth Tatman, Flora; and Marjorie Metzger, Rossville; two grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and 19 step-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Delphi. Burial will be at the Rockfield IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Thompson Funeral Home, Delphi. The body will lie in state at the United Methodist Church one hour prior to services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Fund.
