Born in Herndon, May 1, 1922, she was a daughter of the late John and Ida Wilkinson Zerby. On Oct. 22, 1942, she married Leon B. Leitzel, who preceded her in death on March 13, 1994.
She was a graduate of the former Herndon High School.
Norma was a homemaker and along with her husband had owned and operated the former Leon Leitzel TV and Appliance Store, Klingers- town. She also enjoyed crocheting, crafts and cooking.
She was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Klingerstown, where she had been a former choir member, a member and past nobel grand of the Idella Rebekah Lodge 58, Dornsife, and a member of the Woodmen of the World Lodge, Camp 433, Pitman.
Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Larry Leitzel, Klingerstown, Glenn and Suzette Leitzel, Harrisburg, and David and Dana Leitzel, Elizabeth, Colo.; three grandsons, Lance, Stephen and Derek Leitzel; three great-grandchildren, Loring, Mitchell and Grace Leitzel; two brothers, Dr. J. Richard Zerby, Millersville, and Alton Zerby, Millersburg; three nieces and one nephew.
Viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, 1133 Ridge Road, Klingerstown, and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Klingers- town, followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jan Mills officiating. The Idella Rebekah Lodge 58, Dornsife, will conduct a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Michael's Lutheran Cemetery, Klingers- town. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. Michael's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, c/o P.O. Box 71, Klingerstown, PA 17941. Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown, has charge of arrangements.
