Preston Wisely, 69, died Monday, July 7, 1997, at the family farm in Sumner, Texas.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday at South Hills Baptist Church. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth.

Preston Fuller Wisely was born Sept. 25, 1927, in Sumner to Lee Roy & Ola Ann Floyd Wisely. He was a graduate of Paris High School, was honorably discharged from the Army and was a graduate of the University of North Texas. He was a chief chemist who retired after 39 years from General Dynamics and a long time Fort Worth resident.

He was a member of South Hills Baptist Church, enjoyed playing golf, bowling and spending time with his family. He was active in the South Hills Neighborhood Association and served with "Code Blue" and distributed the neighborhood newsletter.

Survivors: Wife of 39 years, Mamie; daughter, Melissa; son and daughter-in-law, James and Brenda; sister and brother-in-law, Gayle and Morris Dicken; grandson, Landon Wisely; granddaughter, Kristen Davis; aunt, Evelyn Scott; uncle, Lloyd Wisely; several cousins; and many nieces and nephews.
