WILLIAM KUNKEL was the son of John and Madalena Bulyer Kunkel.

His brothers and sisters were as follows-

Samantha Jane Kunkel Harris

William married Amanda Jane Freehafer, the oldest daughter of Jonathan and Mary Ann Cramer Freehafer on March 23, 1865. They were the parents of George Emerson "Em" Kunkel, John Elmer Kunkel and Alice Mae Kunkel Farst. William and Amanda were also the parents of twin infant sons who died at birth in 1871.

In 1880 William and Amanda were living in Jelloway, Knox County, Ohio and William was farming.

William died on 30 May 1885 at the young age of 45 and was buried at Dutch Hill Cemetery (German), near Butler, Worthington Twp, Richland County, Ohio. William's wife Amanda died in 1935 and she was buried at Bunker Hill Cemetery. William's remains were moved to the Bunker Hill Cemetery, next to Amanda, after 50 years had past.

When WILLIAM KUNKEL died in May of 1885 he was buried at the old German Dutch Hill Cemetery, his body was later moved to Bunker Hill Cemetery and buried with his wife, Amanda Jane Freehafer Kunkel Minard, who died in 1935.
