Mrs. Laura E. Houston, 72, died August 6, 2009.
She was born May 17, 1937 in West Plains, Mo. to James Goss and Virginia Hall Goss.
She lived with her companion of 32 years, Mr. Paul Smithson.
Laura was a homemaker. She devoted her life to raising her children in a loving and happy home. She lived in the Bootheel area her entire life and was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Goss and Virginia Hall Goss; three sons, Allen Wells, Joe Wells, and Gary Lee Wells; a daughter, Brenda Lee Wells; and four brothers, Jackie Goss, Dennis Goss James Goss and Harlan Goss.
She leaves her companion, Paul Smithson, her daughters, Kathleen Jarred, Katherine Metz, Patricia Wells, Doris K. Wells and Beth Bolan; her sons, Henry Bolan, Robert Bolan, Donnie Bolan, Tommy Bolan, Terry Wells, Richard Wells, Wesley Wells and Chris Houston; one brother, Donnie Goss; as well as grandchildren, numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services were held Tuesday, August 11, 2009 in the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with Pastor Mickey Moody officiating. Burial was held in the Little Prairie Cemetery in Caruthersville.
