Louis Barney Korber (later changed to Koerber from the German spelling with the two dots over the o) was the son of Ernst Ludwig Korber and his wife Charlotte 'nee unknown. His mother died in 1868 and his father remarried January 1869 to Anna Maria Charlotte Hartman Hunnefeld, a widow who died a few years later of a heat stroke. He moved with his father to Gasconade County in the Bland area in 1880. A sister Mary who was three years older was in the 1870 census but not the 1880 census. She has remained a mystery to the Korber descendants. He later moved to Maries County with his father to the Summerfield area and married Miss Susan Hanks. From this marriage a daughter , Gertie, was born. After Susan's death he married her aunt, Parisada Lottie Anderson. To this union Louis Barney, Jr, Ella Martha, Clara Aleen, Barbara Ethel, Annie Ida, and Minnie M Koerber were born. Louis Barney Koerber had been having problems with sinus infections in 1935. He fell from the seat of the buckboard wagon he was riding in when it rolled over a log. He hit his head on the wagon. He died in Barnes Hospital in St Louis of Meningitis.
