Funeral services are this afternoon (Friday) for David J. Eskridge who died October 3 in Excelsior Springs. Mr. Eskridge was born in Platte County April 21, 1886 and had spent his entire life in and around Weston. He was a member of the Salem Christian Church and had been a farmer and a fine tobacco man. Mr. Eskridge had been at Mary's Boarding House in Weston for sometime and was bedfast. About a month ago he was moved to a Home in Excelsior Springs.
Surviving Mr. Eskridge is a daughter, Mrs. Frances Cockriel of Platte City; three sons, W.D. Eskridge, Independence, Harlan Eskridge, St. Joseph and Robert L. Eskridge, Roseville, Calif. He also leaves 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Rev. Carl Hoff will officiate at the two o'clock service at Vaughn Chapel. L.R. Vaughn will be at the organ and accompany Mrs. Martin Turner, soloist.
Pallbearers for the service at Graceland Cemetery are George Z. Hull, Owens Lee Hull, Wm. B. Hull, Burton Hiatt, George Z. Hull, Jr. and Lad Hull.
