He was born September 4, 1937 in Newport, the son of the late Levi and Wilda (Stahl) Gross. He retired in 1995 from the Cincinnati Milacron Resin Abrasives Products Division in Carlisle where he was Production and Inventory Manager. He was of the Presbyterian faith, Chapter President(1976-77) of the Central Penn Chapter of American Production Inventory Control Society, Lifetime Member of the Social Order of Owls in Newport, past Treasurer of the Gold Eagle Investment Club of Carlisle, past Treasurer and Charter Member of the Hoot Owl Investment Club of Newport, and his hobbies included hunting, fishing, cooking and computer work.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Wright) Gross, sons, Mark A. Gross and wife Terry L. of Newport, Douglas E. Gross and wife Jocelyn of Franklin, Ohio, daughters, Elizabeth A. (Gross) DiFilippo and husband Vincent of Mechanicsburg, Melissa S. Gross of Mt. Joy, brothers, Michael Gross and wife Debra of Hummelstown, Robert Gross and wife Patricia of Newport, sisters, Nancy Kauffman and husband Harold of Newport, Sue Huss of Newport, and 7 grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Thursday September 10 at 1pm in the Newport Cemetery with the Reverend Edward Baugh officiating.
