Mr. Tidwell was born at Number 9, near Yarbro, Ark. on June 4, 1889 and died at the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti on November 14, 1966.
He was the son of the late Sam and Talitha Tidwell and attended school in Crockett County, Tenn.
He moved to Pemiscot county in 1909 from Tennessee. In 1910, in Caruthersville, he was united in marriage to Miss Mattie May Mayes. She preceded him in death on April 20, 1915.
On October 24, 1915, in Caruthersville, Mo., he was united in marriage to Miss Sallie Mae Coble. She preceded him in death on August 24, 1930. At Kennett, Mo. on November 25, 1931, he was united in marriage to Miss Hollie Adell Pate.
Mr. Tidwell engaged in farming and was active until he became ill. He was a member of the Deering Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Hollie Tidwell of Bragg City; six sons, Edward Tidwell of Bragg City, William Tidwell of Memphis, Richard Tidwell of Miami, Fla., Lennie Tidwell of Robinson, Miss., Larry Tidwell of Hayti and Joe Tidwell of Bragg City; five daughters, Mrs. Jessie Neal of Southhaven, Miss., Mrs. Lessie Johnson of Miami, Fla., Mrs. Virginia Baker of Stanford, Conn., Mrs. Hilda Reilly of Covina, Calif. and Mrs. Verdie Ledbetter of St. Louis, Mo.; one half-brother, Berryman Burnett of Caruthersville; 35 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
