Austin was a member of Hardmoney Baptist Church, Draffenville Hardees Coffee Club, and Plumbers and Pipefitters Local #184. He retired with the Tennessee Valley Authority at the Shawnee Steam Plant.
He is survived by his wife, Renada Phillips Harmon of Benton, KY; two daughters, Jennie Sue Harmon of Benton, KY and Nancy Harmon; and one sister, Carla Collins.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eva J. Roberts Harmon; one son, Ray Lee Harmon; and two sisters, Sylvia Lawson and Sharon Thompson. His parents were Doug Harmon and Dora Shephard Harmon.
Services: Graveside services will be at 11:00AM Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Birmingham Cemetery. Rev. Tim Smith and Rev. Faris Sahawneh will officiate, and burial will follow in the Birmingham Cemetery.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home & Crematory.
