He was born in Wilkes County July 9, 1905 to Robert I. McNeil and Rosa Church McNeil.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Eva Rutherford McNeil of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Thelma Polly Jackson of Tuscon, Arizona; two brothers, James Robert McNeil of Mt. Airy and Cecil Dickson McNeil of Winston-Salem; one sister, Miss Geraldine McNeil of Mt. Airy; two grandchildren also survive.
The family requests that donations be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Ashelawn Memorial Gardens was in charge of services.
