Glenna R. Nelson
Glenna R. Nelson, 79, of Louisville, formerly of Shelbyville, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004.
Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Robert W. Nelson; a daughter, Cheryll Lee Whelan of Atlanta; a son, Richard Graham Howe of Louisville; and sisters, Kathryn Baker of Louisville and Jessie Smith of English, Ind.

Glenna Rea Osborne was her given name. She disliked the middle name "Rea" and tried not to use the name. When she married Richard Oliver Howe, HE used her middle name and wrote her middle name as "Rhea". She perferred to be known as "Marie"; a name she had choosen and used for herself throughout her life.
**When her grandson, Jon Graham Howe and his wife Teresa learned they were having triplet girls, they began looking for names. The babies had been desginated Babies A, B and C on the ultrasound photos for tracking each of them. Being in the military, Jon called them Alpha, Bravo and Charlie - but upon their birth they each got a name choosen by Teresa and Jon beginning with A - B - C and a middle name as a tribute to a family member. Bella (actually born first, because of her center position in the womb) was given the middle name of Marie, in honor of her great-grandmother Glenna Marie Osborne, EXCEPT that Glenna's name wasn't Marie!!! But Marie was the name that Glenna used for herself and she choose it for herself, so it became a fitting tribute.
