Hannah Votaw was the daughter of Quakers Joseph Votaw (1779-1832) and Phebe Yates (1779-1861).
She married Elwood B Hampton on Jan. 31, 1843 in Wayne Co., Indiana. She was disowned for marriage contrary to discipline. Hannah and Elwood had 8 children I am aware of. One daughter died young and another in infancy:
Missouri Hampton b. 6-26-1845 in Wayne Co., IN; d. 4-18-1857 in Lee Co. Iowa
Virginia Hampton b. abt. 1849 in Iowa. Both are listed in the 1850 census.
