He married Anna Margaret Crandall on March 20, 1881 in Floyd County. They had six children: Nellie M., Carl, Cynthia Minerva, Minnie Elizabeth, Oneda and Homer.
In 1880, he was living in Palmyra in Knox County, where he worked as a stonecutter. In 1900, he was living in Byron, Minnesota, where he did some farming.
In 1907, he and his family moved from Faribault, Minnesota to Multnomah County, Oregon, where he worked as a laborer, performing all sorts of odd jobs.
He worked for both of the public schools of St. Johns and Portland, putting in ten years as a teacher at Ainsworth School.
He resided at 704 Drew St., Portland
His wife, Anna passed away December 8, 1904 in Dundee, Minnesota at the age of 48, and was laid to rest in the St. Peter Cemetery in New Richland.
Milton passed away on September 3, 1928, in Portland, Oregon at the age of 77, and was laid to rest in the Riverview Cemetery.
