He was born November 21, 1878 in Urbana, Illinois, the son of Charles Frederick and Sarah Elizabeth (Brash) Simpich.
He was a Vice President and Senior Writer for the National Geographic magazine.
He and Margaret E. Edwards were married August 7, 1909 at Cooper, Missouri.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Simpich; and three sons, Frederick E. Simpich, George C. Simpich and William M. Simpich.
Burial is in RockCreek Cemetery, in Washington D.C.
