Velma Claudine Greene born on May 2, 1915, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009, at the age of 94. She is preceded in death be her beloved husband, Bill Greene; her parents, Ester Dickerson and Claude Eugene Dickerson; and an infant brother.

Claudine was born in Caldwell County, in the Brownsboro community, and lived there her entire life. She was a business woman, rancher, homemaker, loving wife and daughter. Claudine was loved by her many friends, admired in her community and respected and loved by her church family. Mrs. Greene was an active member of the Clear Fork Baptist Church where her parents and grandparents were members.

Visitation was held on Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, from 4 - 7 p.m. at McCurdy Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at the Clear Fork Baptist Church at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, with Rev. Danny Backnell of the Clear Fork Baptist Church officiating and Rev. Wayne McCrary assisting. Interment followed at the Clear Fork Cemetery in the Brownsboro community.

Serving as pallbearers were: Charlie Valenta, Charlie Valenta, Jr., John Lewis, Ernest West, James White, Cotton Salge, Russell Tiner and Warren Cole. The deacons of the Clear Fork Baptist Church were honorary pallbearers.
