Quotation from a letter written in 1892 by Mary Rose Floyd Graves
"Last Sunday, we went over to see Col. Washington's family, and I met, again, the wife of Gen. Walker [William Stephen Walker] of Atlanta. She had been Miss Dora Hernandez [1828-1907] and was the sister of Mrs. Washington. You have met her, haven't you? She's a well preserved woman, with pretty brown eyes, good complexion and a great talker, she is quiet deaf, but is very pleasant in her manners, and looks as though she had , at one time, been a beauty."
______________
Section 22, Block 319, Lot 1, Grave 10. Her husband is buried next to her.
Two relatives named Washington are also buried in this plot. They are in Graves 8 and 9.
