W.F. "Dub" Rawls - a 70 year-old native of Collins, MS and longtime resident of Saraland passed away at a local hospital on Sunday, November 30, 2008. Mr. Rawls graduated from Vigor High School in 1957 and attended Samford University. He was a longtime millwright who formerly worked for Westinghouse Electric and retired from Alcoa. Mr. Rawls was active in the Saraland Community as a youth football, baseball, and softball coach and was an avid fisherman and Alabama Crimson Tide football fan. He was preceded in death by his father, Ford Rawls, and daughter, Tonya Leigh Parker. Mr. Rawls is survived by his sons, Scott Rawls of Saraland and Darrell Johnston of Atlanta, GA (returning to Mobile); mother, Eunice Rawls of Brewton, AL; sister, Norvelle Williams of Brewton; brother, Sam Rawls of Chickasaw; two grandchildren, David Parker of Mobile and Farra Parker of Chunchula, AL; ex-wife, Pat Rawls; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until the service hour.
