Henry was born to parents Johannes Reese and Marion Bell.Henry married Amelia Margaretha Karger at South Brisbane on 2 April 1896.Henry and Amelia owned and operated a Jam Factory at Buranda which was later sold to IXL.Henry and Amelia moved to a property at Eukey where they very quickly became respected members of the community.After W.W.1 Henry moved his family back to Manly and a house that he built a Convenience Store next to. They sold vegetables,eggs,firewood etc. and purchased more property around them where some of their family built homes.
