J. W. Werts, 89, of Gillett Grove passed away, at his home there Thursday morning, according to information received by The News Herald just before going to press.
Mr. Werts familiarly known as "Grandad" Werts, had lived in the Gillett Grove community all his life. No funeral arrangements had been made Thursday morning.
Surviving children are Mrs. Wilbur Olmstead, Will, Marvin, John, and Mrs. Clinton Hagberg, all of Gillett Grove; and Melvin and Mrs. Otto Moore, both of Spencer.
