Nicole enjoyed playing with her Web-kins, drawing, school, dance, piano, loved to laugh and wanted to be an artist, mom and aunt when she grew up. She loved Jesus and loved to pray. In February 2008, she was diagnosed with an inoperable brain stem tumor, diffuse intrinsic pontine glaucoma (DIPG), which only occurs in 200 kids a year in the US. To learn more about Nicole's journey, visit www.carepages.com/carepages/nickylee. Despite a prognosis of 6 months, Nicole courageously fought for 19-months under the care of Dr. Susan Blaney at Texas Children's Hospital and the nurses at Houston Hospice. Make-A-Wish granted her dream to kiss a dolphin in Hawaii. Up to this point, she has raised over $21,000 to help find a cure to fight this fatal disease. Nicole is survived by her parents, Dr. Henry and Althea Lee; sister, Natalie Lee; grandparents, Ming and Shirley Lee, IL; and Daniel and Shirley Chan, TX; uncles, Charlie Lee, WI, and Dr. Tom Lee, IL, aunt, Dr. Olivia Schaubach and her husband, Marc Schaubach; their two sons, Seth and Caleb, VA; Uncle Andy Chan and his wife, Dr. Cindy Chan; their children, Cameron and Drew, TX; and was loved by other relatives and teachers and friends. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six until nine o'clock in the evening on Friday, the 11th of September, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston. The funeral service is to be conducted at ten o'clock in the morning on Saturday, the 12th of September at Houston Chinese Church, 10305 S. Main Street in Houston, where Rev. William Hsueh is to officiate. Following the funeral service, a private graveside and interment service will be held for Nicole's family at Memorial Oaks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to Just One More Day for Love, Hope & a Cure at www.firstgiving.com/nicolelee7.
