Mr. Prudhomme died August 20, 1999, in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War.
Survivors include: his wife Evelia L. Prudhomme of Arnaudville; three sons, Ron Prudhomme, of Jacksonville, Fla., Steve Prudhomme, of Woodbridge, Va., and Kurt Prudhomme, of Opelousas, three daughters, Brenda Prudhomme Miller, of New Orleans, Donna Prudhomme of Seagrove Beach, Fla., and Michelle Prudhomme Daigle, of Baton Rouge; five brothers, Calvin Prudhomme and Abel Prudhomme of Opelousas, Eli Prudhomme Jr. of Lawtell and Ralph Prudhomme of Port Barre and Paul Prudhomme of New Orleans; two sisters, Darilee Broussard of Opelousas and Enola Prudhomme of Carencro; and 10 grandchildren.
