Myron “Jack” Elton Gannon, age 84, a resident of Pierz, MN, died September 10, 2000, at St. Mary’s Villa in Pierz.

Funeral services were held September 14 at the Rowe Funeral Home in Grand Rapids, MN. Burial was in the Itasca-Calvary Cemetery in Grand Rapids.

Jack was born December 16, 1915, in Giltner, NE, where he grew up and attended schools and lettered in basketball at Giltner High School. During World War II, he served as a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Force in England where his crew loaded bombs into B-17s and B-25s. Following the war, he returned to farm in Nebraska and was married to Thelma Harthan in 1947 in Grand Island, NE. They moved to Grand Rapids, MN, in 1953 where he farmed and also worked at the Tioga Mine until he moved to Long Beach, CA. In 1993, he moved to St. Mary’s Villa in Pierz.

Myron was preceded in death by his parents, Myron and Pearl (Fairy) Gannon; three sisters, Lois Gannon, Thelda Gatch and Cleone Doud; and one grandson, Darin Gannon.

He is survived by his former wife Thelma Gannon of Grand Rapids; two daughters, Sandra (Jarold) Dickmann of Champlin, MN, and Rhonda (Naftali Zilverberg) Gannon of Kidron, Israel; three sons, Gary (Cathleen) Gannon of Randall, MN, Duane (Marcia) Gannon of Grand Rapids, and Myron G. (Margaret) Gannon of Andover, MN; and 12 grandchildren.
