Nathan served as a Corporal with the 4th Pennsylvania Cavalry/64th Volunteers, Company A (Civil War). He also served as a private with the 8th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, Company F.

Nathan Fritz

Death today claimed Nathan Fritz, one of the oldest and most highly respected residents of Ashley. Mr. Fritz was ill for ten days. He died of complications resulting from an attack of appendicitis.

The deceased was 81 years of age. He was born in England and came to this country when a young boy, since which time he has resided in Ashley. He was a veteran of the Civil War. The deceased was a member of the Ashley M. E. Church. His wife died two years ago.

The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with services at the home. Rev. Lewis D. Palmer, pastor of the M. E. Church, will have charge of the services.
