Ira N. Berry, son of Everett and Florence Berry, was born Oct. 26, 1899, at Avoca in Jackson County, and died at the Onaga Community Hospital July 26, following a long illness. He was 66 years of age.

At the age of seven he moved with his parents to the farm south of Havensville which remained his home and chief interest.

Mr. Berry gained great satisfaction from a soil conservation award presented to him in 1965 by the Kansas Bankers Association for good soil conservation practices.

He was preceded in death by his parents, twin sons, and a daughter who died in infancy.

He is survived by his wife, Lola, of the home; one daughter, Ruby Tannahill, Havensville; her husband, Gary, and the grandchildren, Betty, Larry, John, Martin, Roberta, and Barbara; one son, Roy, Winthrop Harbor, Ill.; his wife, Martha, and the grandchildren, Jane, Judith, Edward, David, Susan, and Carol.

Services were held Thursday from an Onaga mortuary, with interment in the Havensville Cemetery.
